cRéTa
It is an endless transition of shapes
cRéTa is a choreography concert created by Maristella Martella, dancer and choreographer and Gabriele Panico, musician and composer. The body movement and the sound are flexible, plastic and transformable, just as clay (in Italian - creta) when it absorbs water: balancing between fullness and emptiness, between the tension and the distension, in continuous transformation. It is an endless transition of shapes. One can hear the movement, see the sound and touch the picture, create new interior and exterior passages, that evoke new sensations. A combination of possible movements and harmonies, a musical and choreographic fabric that is composed and decomposed each time.
Premesse a Kore
We’re distorted bodies with a strong need to find ourselves again. We need new images and new visions. In this syncretism of a constant loss and an arduous research, we use a myth in order to recognize the reality in which we live, we use symbols to track its map and archetypes, as a mirror, to understand ourselves. The bodies blend in a harmonious, sensual and oneiric way, recalling the ritual from the closest to the body and the most carnal point of view – the dance.

Myth, ritual and dance from the land of Apulia
There is a land where dance and music make miracles happen. This is Salento in the Apulia region, in the extreme south-eastern part of Italy, where the sound of tambourine and women’s voices have been heard over the centuries. Love songs, work songs, healing songs that narrate ancestral, ancient myths of impossible love and accompany people working hard in tobacco fields, where the danger of spider bite is hidden.
